Do I need to register to bid?

Yes, you must create an account before you can start bidding in the auction.

How do I register?

1. Click on “Register Now.” 2. Enter your email address and click the “Email Link” button. 3. Check your email and click the “Get Started” button to complete your registration. 4. You’ll also receive a PIN code in the email - this can be used to log into the Derby Auction App, if preferred.

How will I know if I won the bird I’m bidding on?

You’ll receive a text or email notification when you win a bird. You can also track your bidding activity in your User Dashboard (found in the left-hand menu). At the close of the auction, your final invoice - listing all your winning items - will appear in the Invoices section of the app. You can view and pay your invoice directly from there.

How will I know if I’ve been outbid?

You’ll receive an in-app notification when you're outbid. If push notifications are disabled, you’ll receive a text message instead. To review all notifications, visit the Alerts section in the app menu.

What is a Max Bid?

A Max Bid is the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for a bird. Handbid will automatically place bids on your behalf up to this maximum, ensuring you stay in the lead while only increasing the bid by the minimum increment required.

If I submit a Max Bid, will I automatically pay that amount?

No. You’ll only pay one bid increment higher than the next highest bidder. Handbid never bids your full max unless it’s necessary to keep you in the lead.

How do I add my credit card?

1. Tap the menu icon (3 horizontal lines) in the top-left corner. 2. Select Profile (below the "X"). 3. Go to the Credit Card tab (top-right). 4. Tap Add Credit Card and enter your details. Note: If you don’t see this menu, try selecting and browsing any auction first.

How do I pay my invoice?

If your credit card is on file and the auction uses Handbid’s payment system, you can pay directly in the app: 1. Go to Invoices in the menu. 2. Select and pay your invoice securely from there.

Is my credit card information secure?

Yes. Your data is securely stored with our PCI-compliant payment provider. Your credit card information never touches our servers or apps.

Can I delete a bid?

Only an Auction Manager can delete bids. If you accidentally bid on the wrong item, please contact the Auction Manager immediately at floridapigeonderby@gmail.com

Can I preview the birds before bidding?

Yes. Each bird listing includes photos, pedigree information, loft name, and other important details. If a physical preview is available, it will be noted in the auction description.

How do I know the bird’s pedigree is accurate?

Pedigrees and bird details are submitted by the sellers and reviewed before listing. While we strive for accuracy, buyers are encouraged to contact the Auction Manager with any questions.

Are all birds vaccinated?

Vaccination status is provided in the bird’s description, if available. Please refer to the listing or reach out to the Auction Manager for more health-related information.

What happens if a bird is listed incorrectly?

If you believe a listing contains incorrect or misleading information, please report it to the Auction Manager immediately so it can be reviewed.

What if I win a bird but don’t want it anymore?

All bids are binding. If you win an auction, you are legally obligated to complete the purchase. Contact the Auction Manager if you experience a legitimate issue.

Do I have to pay for shipping?

Yes, Buyers are responsible for shipping fees, $70 for the first bird and $10 for each additional bird up to 3 birds.

How are the birds shipped?

Shipping is typically handled by the Auction Manager, birds will be shipped the following Monday or Tuesday after payment is received. Tracking number will be provided as soon as available.

Can I pick up the bird in person?

In some cases, yes. If local pickup is available, it will be noted in the auction listing. Contact the Auction Manager directly to arrange pickup logistics.
